The Shy Puppy
“There are 7 puppies in the cage over there” Michelle explained
I nervously, skipped over to the enclosed play area on the luscious, green grass in the tree surrounded garden.
Looking, we couldn’t see 7 puppies in the play area we could only spot 6!?
I examined the cage for the other puppy. Michelle brought out some dog biscuits and put them in the bowl. That made the shy puppy come out. We had seen the most beautiful dog we had ever seen in our life. The dog we had seen was a black moodle with a white chest and one white paw.
Soon we were driving home. We knew that the puppy we had seen that day was the one.
Later that day we went to the Rose and Shamrock for dinner.
A couple of minutes later. . .
Dad went quiet; then he sat up straight and said “Guinness” as he picked up his drink he said it it again “Guinness.”
That is what we should call the dog, Guinness.
The next day we drove to Michelle’s house and picked up our puppy Guinness. We got home and welcomed him to our house and Lewis and I played in the garden with Guinness and we got him some toys.
Mum and Dad were setting up Guinness’s play pen and then we heard a knock on the door, It was my Auntie and Uncle and my two cousins. They were here to see Guinness but all they did was steal him away from me.
I asked Guinness to come into my room but he just seemed to only care about Michael, Phoebe and Lewis. It then made me think, maybe Guinness and I aren’t going to be best friends after all.
A couple of days later…
Guinness and I were running around the house being crazy. Bang, Crash! we tumbled around on my bed then ran around again Crash, Bang! we jumped on the sofa. All of a sudden we hear some footsteps “Oh no,” I whispered to Guinness, “Dad’s coming” We found ourselves in some very awkward positions on the couch. Guinness was under a pillow somehow and I was upside down!
Now I can look back on that day and find it very funny, because now Guinness and I are best friends.
